 Emma Pickering - Company Director
Emma's background is in Swimming Pool Management and staff Training, she has a vast knowledge of swimming pools and is qualified in all aspects of a leisure centre. Emma's many years of experience can be seen through her management skills and ability to deal with all situations. As well as Management, Emma is also involved in Training and is a Trainer Assessor for First Aid, De-fibrillation, Oxygen Therapy and NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification). But also holds certificates in Health & Safety, ISRM Diploma in Management, Child Protection, ASA Swimming Teacher, ASA Aquafit Teacher, ISRM Pool Plant, First Aid at Work, De-fib & Oxygen Therapy, Gym Instructor, Sport & Rec Client Motivation, FPS Fire Warden and a Diploma in Refexology and more (phew!!). So as you can see Emma is more than qualified in the running of swim schools and out of school care.
Emma is married to Mark Pickering. Mark is an Ex-Great Britain International Swimmer and is now a Swimming Coach, who has coached up to Olympic standard.
 Natalie Tanner - Company Director
Natalie's background is also in Swimming Pool's, as she used to work at a local pool, as a P.A and Head Receptionist. Being an ex-swimmer herself she is well adverse to being in and around many swimming pools. As well as Teaching swimming & Aquafit, Natalie is also involved in Training and is a qualified Trainer Assessor in First Aid and Horse Riding. Natalie also holds qualifications in NPLQ, First Aid At Work, ASA Swimming Teachers, NVQ Level 2 Swimming, ASA Lane Coaches, ASA Aquafit Teacher, FPS Fire Warden, Oxygen Therapy, Customer Care, Health & Safety, Child Protection, Certification in I.T, Managing Stress, Managing Aggression in the workplace and is also CRB Qualified. Her roles within FTA includes personnel management, the day to day running of all the lessons, pool management liaison, and up keeping all the policies and procedures in place. Natalie is also in charge of all resale, stock, equipment, inventories and pool & building checks.
The two Essex Girls started off the FTA business to teach a few swimming lessons, run a few First Aid Courses and to make more time available so they could see their families and persue their outside interests. Oh How they were wrong!! They now have 2 swim schools with approx 600 swimmers and a childcare facility at Barnmead Pavilion, which caters for 32 children everyday. Not bad for two dizzy Essex Girls!!!
