ADULT LESSONS
Adult Lessons are for all ages and abilities, from the petrified to the advanced know it all!! Our FTA Teachers are in the water with those who are nervous and need more confidence in the water, we usually have two teachers for the really nervous beginners. We then have the improver groups, working up to advanced, stroke and stamina work. We have small groups of only 6 pupils per teacher, this enables all our adults to gain the water skills they require to progress quicker. At all our sites we have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. So even if you are nervous about coming on your own, do not fear as all our adults can gossip for engalnd and will make you feel right at ease. Adult Lessons are pay as you go, so need to book a course in advance, just turn up and pay your money.
CHILDRENS LESSONS
Children's Lessons are for ages 3 years to 16 years, and class levels are dependent on the child's ability not age. Our FTA Teachers are in the water with those who are nervous and especially the little ones, who need more control. We usually have an assistant teacher in the water for the beginner groups, to help us focus on their individual needs and get them swimming quicker. We have small groups of only 6 pupils per teacher, this enables us to gain more control over the pupils and enhance their water skills and confidence. At all our sites we have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, so it makes the children feel at ease, and hopefully a little less nervous. Children's Lessons are run over a 10 week course, with a full pupils assessment taking place on weeks 6 and 7 of each course and then a full report for you is available from week 8 with the chance to book on for the next course. We do not break for holidays so run continuously throughout the year, apart from Christmas where we have two weeks off. We follow the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming and this has 12 levels of achievement, with a badge and certificate being awarded for each level passed. We also give out distance awards if we feel a child has done extremely well but has not passed that specific level.
BABY LESSONS
Baby Classes are for those aged 6 months up to FTA years and are called Adult & Child Sessions, as they must be accompanied whilst in the water. Class levels are dependent on the toddlers ability and not age. We have small groups so more space in the water and also enables us to enhance the toddlers water skills and water confidence. At all our sites we have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, so it makes the toddlers feel at ease, and hopefully a little less nervous. Baby Lessons are run over a 10 week course, with a full pupil assessment taking place on weeks 6 and 7 of each course and then a full report for you is available from week 8 with the chance to book on for the next course. We do not break for holidays so run continuously throughout the year, apart from Christmas where we have DIPPERS weeks off. We follow the as duckling's awards for adult & child lessons, and this then works in with the as National teaching plan as they get older and progress. At all our facilities we have baby changing tables, changing mats etc.
ONE 2 ONE SESSIONS
These sessions are based on private tuition with one pupil per teacher, the session lasts 30 minutes, which enables the individual to work toward their specific goals. These sessions are with one of our fully qualified FTA / as Swimming Teachers/Coaches, and are dependent on the pool time availability. A 30 minute session costs £15. To arrange a One DIPPERS One session then please contact us direct, advising us of the goals you want to achieve, we will then let you know the days and times that we have available.
FTA SWIMMING SQUAD
These sessions are designed for pupils who have achieved all 12 levels of the as National Teaching Plan or pupils that can perform all 4 strokes and complete 400m in 10 minutes. These sessions are run by a fully qualified ASA Club Coach, who has coached to International and Olypic standards, and who also swum for Great Britain himself. He is assisted by as Lane coaches, and the sessions he sets and oversees are based on the advanced techniques for enhancing all four strokes as well as building stamina. The sessions are also designed to work on Starts & Turns and introduces advanced diving skills. There will be a few sessions throughout the week that the pupils can attend, so they can either attend just one or make full use of the squad facilities and attend all the sessions. This is an excellent way of keeping all pupils interested in swimming and taking them to the next level. We will also be introducing a masters squad for adults, these days and times will also be advised shortly.
FTA LIFESAVING CLUB
The FTA Lifesaving Club will also be up and running by September 2005. This will incorporate lifesaving swimming skills, and advanced Water & Lifsaving rescue skills. These sessions are undertaken by a fully qualified NPLQ/ISRM Trainer Asessor, trained to teach up to National Pool lifeguard Qualification standard. All types of rescues and basic life support skills will be undertaken and the use of basic lifesaving equipment that you would have close to hand. certificates in Rookie Lifesaving and Basic Emergency Rescues as well as First Aid Certificates are awarded on achievement of each level.
SCHOOL SWIMMING LESSONS
We have a number of school contracts within the Harlow area. We provide structured school swimming lessons with an excellent personalized awards system. Each pupil receives a full assessment and certificates are awarded at the completion of each level. All our FTA Teachers are ASA / NPLQ / FIRST AID qualified and are all CRB Checked. School Lesson references are available upon request from other schools that we provide this service for.
SCHOOL SWIMMING SQUADS
We have a number of school squads. These are usually 45 minute sessions overseen by our Fully Qualified ASA Club Coach as well as our FTA / ASA Lane Coaches. The session are for those who can complete 200m in 5 minutes and can perform Good Front crawl and Backstroke at Least. These sessions are based on enhancing the water skills already gained through their school swimming lessons, but for pupils who wanted to achieve more. Advanced Stroke Techniques and Stamina work are involved as well as working on Starts and Turns and advanced Diving practices.
